May 2021 Opening Details
***UPDATE - FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2021***
Friends,
It is very surreal to consider we are coming up on the one-year anniversary of the beginning of the shutdown here at St. Faustina and elsewhere. As your pastor, my heart continues to be with the People of God who have been affected during this pandemic, and whose lives have been changed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In light of the Governor’s conference last week, I wanted to provide an update to you in terms of what we are doing at St. Faustina to continue to strive for safe opportunities to worship. These decisions are in conjunction with the recommendations “to stay the course” given to us from the Cardinal’s Office on Friday.
Based on the recommendations from Medical Professionals, COVID-19 safety guidance and in reverence to the Holy Mass, we will implement the following adjustment to our safety protocols beginning the weekend of March 20th and 21st:
In the event you would like to review the Cardinal’s recent letter, we encourage you to do so by visiting the left side of the page.
Finally, we know there have been more people coming back to Mass these last few months and want to continue to encourage this to take place, mindful of all our existing social-distancing protocols. We will continue to use Eventbrite to hold reservations for our weekend Masses, and will be adding an additional option for outside seating to help accommodate our busier Masses that are hitting their limits. Because of the need to have ministers ready to serve this group, this option will be limited to the 11am Mass for the time-being.
Please know I will continue to pray for each and every one of you, especially as we proceed forward and see the conditions from the pandemic begin to improve. God bless you!
Fr. Dat Hoang
***UPDATE - FRIDAY MARCH, 5, 2021***
Cardinal DiNardo has provided an update to parishes in response to the Governor's announcement last week. You can find those responses on the left side of our page. Please note, we will continue to keep our policies from the last few months in place until instructed otherwise by the Cardinal's Office.
**Update - Wednesday, April 29, 2020**
Cardinal DiNardo shared a letter to the faithful this evening regarding the plans for the Archdiocese, specifically as it pertains to reopening our parishes.
At St. Faustina, we will be open on Saturday for Confessions from 9-11am and 3-5pm; however, our Sunday Masses (11 and 1pm) will be livestreamed ONLY this weekend. Beginning Monday, we will open for Daily Masses, with our 6:30pm Monday Mass being our first Public Mass open to the parish.
Please stay tuned to our Website, Facebook, and especially our Flocknote as we update the parish regarding our specific plans and strategy moving forward. To read the Cardinal's letter, please follow one of these links:
**Update - Friday, April 3, 2020**
Yesterday, Fort Bend County extended their “Stay-Home” Mandate until April 30th, which unfortunately means our parish will remain closed until further notice. Please stay connected with us as we will continue to stream all Masses and devotionals, including Holy Week. Let us continue to pray for one another during this health crisis.
**Update - Thursday, March 26, 2020**
To My Dear People of St. Faustina,
I pray this message reaches you well, and all in your family are healthy and remain strong. If there is anything we can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out. I want to thank you for everything you are doing to continue to share God’s love and mercy during this incredibly difficult time. A month ago, none of us could have foresaw the impact that the coronavirus (COVID-19) illness would have on our parish – much less our society. I am thankful for those who have quickly stepped up to try and continue sharing our mission during these difficult times, as well as those that continue to offer their support.
I want to bring you up to speed with a few things happening at the parish in the wake of this crisis. As you may be aware, Harris County and Fort Bend County both issued a “Stay-Home” Mandate earlier this week. This mandate runs through April 3rd and is setup to help flatten the curve by maintaining adequate social distancing during this time. With these mandates in place, we have unfortunately shut the parish down until the mandate is lifted on April 3rd. This means we can no longer open our parish for personal prayer during the day (as we had been doing). Furthermore, we have also been instructed by the Archdiocese to reserve Confessions for now by appointment only. We will continue streaming our daily and Sunday Masses, as well as our Divine Mercy Holy Hour through our different social media channels. In addition, our staff is all working diligently from home, and will be accessible by their office phone and/or email.
In light of this, and in congruence with our previous updates and changes, I want to call on our parish family to continue to help further the mission of our parish, especially during these difficult moments. Please observe the following:
As this situation continues to change with time, I invite you all to continue to pray for one another and especially those who serve in your ministry. I am very appreciative for all you have done and all you continue to do to help those at St. Faustina live, experience, and share the great love and mercy of God. If you have an urgent need for Confession or to receive the Sacrament in serious condition, please contact us at 346-773-3500 or info@saintfaustinachurch.org. Similarly, in the case of emergency, grave illness or death please call the emergency line at 346-387-0339 and leave a detailed message with your contact information for a call back. Otherwise, please be patient, hang in there and allow this time to build up our deeper desire and appreciation for the gifts of the sacrament. Be assured of my continued prayers for you and your family during this difficult time. God bless each of you!
Sincerely,
Fr. Dat

Sinceramente,
Padre Dat

**Update - Friday, March 20, 2020**
To My Parish Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing you to again update you with some pretty substantial changes that have been mandated across the Archdiocese. It seems like things change on a daily basis at this point, and we want to do everything we can at St. Faustina to remain flexible by adapting to these changes. At the same time, we do not want to neglect our parish mission and are intent on having our parish family continue to live, experience and share the love and mercy of God when possible.
This week, Cardinal DiNardo gave us an update on what parish life looks like in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston in his letter addressed to the local church found here. The recommendations and precautions recommended by the Archdiocese included the suspension of all public celebrations of Mass for the immediate future, and the curtailing of additional sacraments and gatherings for the time being. We have quickly responded to these mandates, along with the additional growing concerns presented by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and want to let you know of the changes we have made as a result of this letter.

I want to thank you for the level of understanding our parish family has exhibited during this time, and for the incredible wave of support that has been offered to help those in need. Please keep praying for one another during this crisis, and know that we place all of our trust in the Lord! God bless you!
Yours in Christ,

A mi querida familia parroquial,

**Update - Tuesday, March 17, 2020**
Cardinal DiNardo has just released an update regarding new Archdiocesan recommendations and precautions as it relates to the COVID-19 Virus. Please read the attached letter in its entirety.
Fr. Dat will be addressing the parish tomorrow, and specifically how this affects St. Faustina moving forward. Please note the most immediate change is that "the public celebration of all weekday and Sunday Masses will be suspended in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston." Instead, we will be live-streaming Father's celebration of the Mass daily at 8:30am, and will publish updates regarding weekend Masses tomorrow.
The Church will be opening tomorrow at 9:30am for those who wish to come and pray, while (in the interest of the clergy and staff) the parish office will be closed - with those on staff being available by appointment only. Instead of entering the Church through the office, we encourage you to enter through the front doors after 9:30am, as they will be open and unlocked.
"We are facing a difficult and uncertain future and we may think the Lord is asleep. Through our constant prayer and works of charity, our Lord suddenly arises and calms the rough seas."

**Update - Monday, March 16, 2020**
As of today, all Masses will continue to be celebrated at their regularly scheduled times. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Adoration will be held in the main Church rather than the side Chapel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday allowing more “social distancing” as you spend time with the Lord.
If you are unable or uncomfortable to gather with us at the Church, stay closely connected to the church family by participating in the Mass celebrations online.
In addition, we continue to be diligent in disinfecting all common area touchpoints.
During our Masses this past weekend, we did not pass the collection baskets to avoid person to person contact as much as possible. Due to the means of avoiding the spread of the coronavirus, we are encouraging our parishioners to instead give online as a safe and efficient way to continue your faithful donations to St. Faustina. If you are one who normally gives by check or cash, please consider using our online platform, http://faithdirect.net and use our church code TX676.
Leveraging technology to meet during this time helps to ensure the most precautions available are being utilized for the benefit of our parish family. We will continue to look at additional ways to connect with the parish throughout the week using social media and our live-streaming capabilities, and will provide any additional updates regarding COVID-19 as they happen.
To my parish family, I pray this message reaches you with the grace and peace of our Lord. In the midst of the worries and fears with the coronavirus illness (COVID-19), it is important to remain strong in our faith and place our trust in our Lord first and foremost. We have received a number of calls and questions regarding COVID-19 and our response as it relates to our Liturgical Celebrations and other gatherings. For the last two weeks, we have already taken a number of precautions at the parish to promote the safety and health of our parishioners and will continue to be proactive in this regard. Some of those initial precautions have already been posted on our website and can also be found on our Facebook page. Furthermore, in light of ongoing update and recommendation from the Bishop’s Office and in response to some of the recent local closings and precautions, we want to update St. Faustina’s precautions to include the following: Liturgical Celebrations
In conjunction with the recommendation from the Archdiocese and in line with the closing of our local school districts, we are doing the following:
