Beginning in Second Grade and older, students may register for the Sacrament Preparation program, which is for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. Sacrament Prepartaion classes are in addition to Faith Formation classes.
Sacrament Preparation takes a full school year with First Reconciliation in the Fall and First Eucharist in the Spring. A child cannot receive his/her First Eucharist without receiving their First Reconciliation beforehand.
The child must be Baptized in the Catholic faith
They must be at least 7 years of age
Entering the second grade or higher
Completed one full year of Faith Formation or Catholic School Education prior to the Sacrament Preparation year and be currently enrolled in Faith Formation at St. Faustina or Catholic school
A copy of your child’s Baptism certificate is required.
Attend one Parent Meeting on either Saturday, September 7th 1:00 OR Tuesday, September 10th at 7:00 pm.
The preparation process is available for children with special needs in various format to suit your child's particular needs.
This program is for children/teens over the age of 7, who are not Baptized or Baptized in another faith and wish to join the Catholic church. During the first year your child/teen will attend their grade level Faith Formation classes along with a once a month class on Church Traditions, prayers, and Sacred Scripture.
The second year they will attend FF classes and meet 2 times a month. These classes will help them understand the Catholic faith on a deeper level and prepare them to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. The students are evaluated throughout the year and if ready, the student will receive their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. There is no time set on receiving of Sacraments, it is when the child/teen is ready.
