The Society of Saint John De Matha is a 501(3)c non-profit organization that exists with Ecclesiastical Approval as a Private Association of the Christian Faithful for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston for the spiritual and pastoral need of the People of God and for the purposes defined in the Statues.
Volunteers for The Society of St. John DeMatha assist the inmates at Jester 3 prison and other TDCJ facilities to make successful transitions – spiritually, emotionally and financially – to life outside of prison.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TEACHING REENTRY CLASSES
We need volunteers (male or female) to assist with teaching inmates how to prepare for and to make the transition from prison to a productive life after their release. Training will be provided
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MENTORING PROGRAM
We need male volunteers to assist with a mentoring program working with offenders in prison and continuing after their release. Training will be provided.
