PURPOSE
SFY Confirmation Program

 This page explains the expectations for teens in the Confirmation Two Year. If your teen is in their first year of preparation, please go to the Confirmation Home Page for more information. 

Beginning in the Spring of 2020, SFY will use Purpose, the Life Teen transformative approach to Confirmation Preparation.

The Purpose curriculum is 24 sessions with a heavy focus on evangelizing young people and accompanying them as they become disciples. The curriculum addresses three big questions, "Why believe in God?", "Why trust Jesus?" and "Why be a part of the Church?" These questions are supplemented with the Foundations book series, which allows teens to dive more deeply into each. There are four versions of the 24-session curriculum, each adapted for a specific group.

The Confirmation Program at St. Faustina is focused on helping teens become strong and faithful Catholic adults. Therefore, our program is designed to do three things: Teach the Catholic faith, allow teens the opportunity to encounter Christ, and help teens begin to live as disciples of Christ through the Catholic faith.
 
With these goals in mind, we invite teens to experience the beauty of our Catholic faith through these expectations.

1. Attendance at all Confirmation Preparation Formation
2. Two Service Projects
3. A Confirmation II Retreat
4. A Saint Report
5. An Entrance and Exit Interview

Each of the components above has a due date as well as additional information about each expectation. This program follows the directives set by both the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston and St. Faustina Catholic Church. However, this program is not meant to be daunting.
